Think before you speak...
After reading "Trying To Be Cute Will Often Cost You Customers", made me think back to the times that has happened to me. I agree that when you are being waited on in a business you expect to be treated with respect. I will never forget the time I was at a restraunt and got a large meal, since I had just finished a long run, and was hungry. The waiter, who was an overweight middleage gentleman, brought out my meal and said "Is this your binge for the week?" After he said that I told him that I had just got done running and that I needed to refuel my body properly. He appologized and said he didn't mean to offend me, he just couldn't imagine that I would order as much as I did. With that being said, I have never returned to eat there ever again.
Words you speak are powerful even if you don't mean them to be taken in an offending way.
