Is instant messaging wrecking our personal lives? It is so much easier these days to write a message than to go talk to someone one on one. Humans are meant to interact with others and should. We are social beings and technology is taking that away from us. We are missing out on the great relationships we could have with others. And those who are so dependent on technology become devastated if something happens to their form of communication. Whether the internet is down or your cell phone service is out. We shouldn't rely on technology as much as we do because it is here to enhance our lives not control it.

Speech anxiety is a learned behavior that can happen to anyone. If you have anxiety before a speech know that you can control it! The first step in controlling speech anxiety is to realize almost everyone has it and that you're not alone. Second make sure you have a topic that you are comfortable and familiar with. Third, know your audience and surroundings. Forth, think positively! Fifth step is to practice, practice, practice. The sixth step is to ask for help from your instructor or find a treatment program. The seventh and final step is to NEVER give up! If you keep a positive outlook you will feel more confident which will help your nervousness disappear! Trust me try it!

Workplace Rudeness

A new study is being done by the psychologists at Saint Mary's University in Halifax Canada. They are going to observe how people react to incivility from fellow workers. What they discovered was that even when people didn't intentionally mean to sound rude they were often said to have been. This caused a spark of resentment and anger towards the other person which caused problems. They also found that every type of workplace is different. You have to adjust to the different environments and know how to react in it.

Relationship Matters

Should students be taught about love relationships?
Do you remember when you were in elementary school and had a secret crush on the boy or girl sitting next to you? That crush usually turns into a boyfriend/girlfriend and before you know it you're "going out"! Relationships are beginning earlier so if you don't know how to act and behave towards the other person your relationship might not last. Schools are now debating as to whether they should start teaching relationship courses in junior high and highschool. I believe it would be a great idea because so many people who are in relationships don't have a clue how to make an interpersonal relationship with the other person. This is why they believe there are so many divorces. If these classes were given people could understand each other better and hopefully stay together for all the right reasons.

Most people who are looking for a job are not specific. When you are searching for a job, being specific eliminates frustration and aggravation. Also when applying for different jobs you need to make separate resumes so you don't confuse the employer. When you go in for an interview you must tell the employer you specific qualifications. This will make your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) which sets you apart from other candidates. I agree that these helpful guidelines will and do set apart the people who really want the job from the people who are still uncertain what they want. So before applying for a job figure out what you want to do for sure before filling out applications. You will be a lot less stressed if you follow these guidelines!

Marriage on Hold

In this situation and man and wife get a divorce. The man ends up finding another woman who he falls in love with. So they get married thinking that everything has been finalized with the divorce. To their astonishment the lawyer who said that the divorce was final and that the papers were in the mail lied! The lawyer didn't even submit the papers for them to get a divorce. So this man is technically married to two women all because the lawyer lied. Since the lawyer lied they are in a dilemma as to whether or not they need to be remarried or just keep the marriage and wait for the divorce papers to be finalized. Just remember you can't trust everyone and that includes professionals. Trust is valuable life necessity.

We are constantly hearing about people breaking up. Whether we hear it from the media, our family, or friends. It makes some people scared to even engage in a relationship for fear of rejection. This doesn't have to happen though. Relationships work if you and your significant other have fun with each other and do things you both enjoy. And also if you have a good communication skills with each other. There are going to be times when you will need to talk about important issues and times when you shouldn't. Relationships work best when there is trust, honesty, and understanding. So if you have these qualities in your relationship you shouldn't worry about breaking up, you should relax and enjoy the moment.
